Sponsors & Partners

The WVAFC expresses its appreciation to the following individuals, organizations and agencies who have contributed to our success:

NAFC (National Association of Free Clinics)

  • The NAFC is the only national non-profit whose mission is solely focused on the needs of free clinics and the populations they serve. Founded in 2001 by free clinic leaders from across the country, the NAFC supports community-based, non-profit, volunteer-supported free clinics serving the uninsured and underinsured. The leadership of the NAFC focuses on bringing advocacy, networking, and needed resources to free clinics to help them face their many challenges.

Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation

  • The WVAFC received a $250,000 grant in 2006 to assist WV free clinics to proactively enroll diabetic patients across the state in a controlled management program to decrease hemoglobin A1C and blood sugar levels through medication and education programs.

Robert C. Byrd National Technology Transfer Center at Wheeling Jesuit Univeristy

  • Through NTTC's HEALTHeWV Program, and the support of U.S. Senator Robert C. Byrd (D-WV), the NTTC sponsored the development, implementation and maintenance of the new WVAFC website to strengthen the state's network of free clinics, broaden its outreach, and provide a Web presence for each member clinic.
Facts

Service and labor jobs are less likely to provide workers with health insurance.

Even when employers offer health insurance, premiums tend to be too high for minimum-waged workers.
