Connections for Cardiovascular Health announces grant to West Virginia Health Right, Inc.

The AstraZeneca HealthCare Foundation program, Connections for Cardiovascular HealthSM announced a grant of more than $186,000 to West Virginia Health Right, Inc. in Charleston to expand the Pathways to Cardiovascular Health program.

The Pathways to Cardiovascular Health program is designed to improve the health status of working-poor and low-income people through participation in health education classes, screenings and self-management of diet, exercise and medication adherence.

National Committee for Quality Assurance Physician Practice Connections - Patient Centered Medical Home Recognition

West Virginia Health Right, the state’s oldest and largest free clinic, recently achieved recognition as a Patient Centered Medical Home from the National Commission for Quality Assurance (NCQA). WV Health Right is one of the first free clinics in the nation to receive NCQA recognition.

WV Association of Free Clinics Announces New Officers

The West Virginia Association of Free Clinics has announced its new slate of officers for fiscal years 2012 and 2013. Laura Jones, Executive Director of Milan Puskar Health Right will serve as President and Patricia H. White, Executive Director of WV Health Right will assume the position of Vice-President. The positions of Secretary and Treasurer will be held respectively by Michele Goldman, Executive Director of the Eastern  Panhandle Free Clinic and Jeff Graham, Executive Director of Beckley Health Right and Immediate Past President of the Association.

Susan Dew Hoff Memorial Clinic


Susan Dew Hoff Memorial Clinic's (SDH) mission is to remove pain and restore the oral health of its patients in Harrision County, WV and to keep working people working.


SDH opened in 2001 and is named in honor of the first woman to obtain a medical license in West Virginia, Dr. Susan Dew Hoff.  The founder of the clinic is Sister Mary Rebecca Fidler who remains the CEO.
