Primary Care Services
Ebenezer Medical Outreach (EMO) provides free primary care medical services to anyone who is uninsured or underinsured and whose household income falls below 133% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, yet is unable to access Medicaid or Medicare.
EMO has been very fortunate to have available several different specialists for its patients, including a neurologist, cardiologist, orthopedist, gastroenterologist, dermatologist, podiatrist, and surgeon for minor surgery. GYN services are provided through the Cabell Huntington Hospital Women's Regional Health Center.
Monday afternoons are reserved for EMO's Women's Clinic, as well as, every second and fourth Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Through a contract with the West Virginia Bureau for Public Health, EMO offers complete women's health exams, including pap smears and mammogram referrals, at no cost.
A volunteer from the Marshall University Dietician Program provides free nutritional counseling services to EMO patients, upon referral by the medical providers. The clinic also provides weekly psychological counseling services.
Prescription Assistance Program
EMO has always provided medications for the patients seen in the clinic. The clinic provides these medications at a cost of $2 per prescription (up to a maximum of $10). In addition to the patients seen in the clinic, EMO also provides medication to the patients of its volunteer physicians and nurse practitioners, as well as other local physicians.
With the assistance of local dentists, EMO now offers a dental clinic for its patients. The goal is to insure that all EMO patients have access to every service that will improve their overall health. A $5 donation for each dental visit is requested.
